Employee Outsourcing
Employee Outsourcing - Growing in popularity
Today, the world is a busy global village with a lot of people preferring to work at home. While most have their own reasons, there are only a few that can meet the needs of companies that are in need of employee outsourcing. Companies that are subcontracting to a third party have to be very careful when choosing their employees. They have to make sure that the people they hire are qualified for the job and have enough experience to allow them to work efficiently and effectively.
Employee outsourcing is not all that is new to the business world but it was made popular with the introduction of fast internet connections. Most of the subcontracting happens online which is why most people work in the comfort of their homes. The employees should have their own work stations where they will not be disturbed while doing their job. They might be working at home in their pajamas but the fact that they are getting paid means that this is a job like any other. They should therefore work in a distraction and noise free area. The work station should be treated like an office and children and neighbors should not be allowed to disturb the working individual because if they were in an office elsewhere they would not be disturbed.
There is an employer-employee contract that determines how many hours the contractor works and just how much work they should complete in a given period of time. The company with the employee outsourcing exercise should determine the method and amount of payment according to the nature of the job to be done.
By the piece: this means that the employee should produce a certain number of pieces to get paid and the payment is on per piece basis. There are many small manufacturing companies that outsource assembling employees who work at home and are paid per completed piece. On the employees side, they have to work extra hard to make sure they complete enough pieces in an hour they need to earn a decent wage.
By the project: there are companies that will outsource larger projects taking a week or a few months to complete. The employer has a predetermined price for the whole project and will make the contractor sign a contract to show that they accept the price and the period of time within which the job should be complete. The amount of money involved is what tells the contractor how fast the job should get done.
By the hour: companies that pay outsourced employees per hour are considered the best for an employee and the worst for the employer. This is because unless you have good working ethics, you are a risk to the employer. Work ethic means that you will be committed to working continuously as you would in a normal office with your employer looking over your shoulder. You should work like you were not at home which means no personal calls or any uncalled for breaks in between working hours.
Employee outsourcing is quite a complicated practice for a company without the right information about the employees. However, it is growing in popularity and more and more companies feel it is more economical to use employee outsourcing than it is to have in house employees.
